Docxter
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Docxter Android application (the “App”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Who we are
The App is provided by The Skynth (“we”, “us”, or “our”), based in
the Netherlands. The App's Android package name is com.docxter.app.
For our data-handling practices, see the Docxter Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms by reference.
2. Eligibility
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age required to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
3. License to use the App
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on a device you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.
The App, including its design, text, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited license above, we reserve all rights. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the App, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
You retain all rights to the documents you open with the App. We claim no ownership over your files and do not access, store, or transmit them anywhere — see the Privacy Policy for details.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its underlying systems;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the App's source code except as permitted by applicable law; or
- Use the App in a way that infringes the rights of, or causes harm to, us or any third party.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.
5. Purchase
The App is a single one-time purchase processed through Google Play Billing. It is not a subscription and does not renew or auto-charge. Your purchase is billed and processed entirely by Google, subject to Google Play's own terms, payment methods, and refund policies. We do not directly collect or store your payment-card or bank-account details.
Refund requests are handled by Google under its own refund policy. We may, at our discretion, assist with a request but are not obligated to provide a refund directly.
6. Text-to-speech
The App reads your documents aloud using whichever text-to-speech engine is installed and selected on your device. That engine — not the App — performs the speech synthesis and, for any optional "network" voice you choose, may send text to its own service to generate audio. Your use of that engine is governed by its own terms and privacy policy, and we do not control, and are not responsible for, its availability or output.
7. Third-party services
The App relies on Google Play Billing to process your purchase and on your device's own text-to-speech engine to read documents aloud. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and policies, which we encourage you to review:
We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of these third-party services.
8. Updates
We may add, remove, or modify features of the App at any time, including to fix bugs, improve reliability, or comply with legal or platform requirements. We do not guarantee that any specific feature will remain available indefinitely.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any document will be read or displayed accurately.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from or related to your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including statutory consumer-protection rights that may apply in your country of residence.
11. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms, or discontinue the App or any of its features at our discretion, including where required by Google Play policy or applicable law. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 3, 5, 9, 10, and 13) will survive.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable local consumer-protection law requires otherwise. Where you qualify as a consumer under mandatory local law, that law's consumer protections and your right to bring proceedings in your local courts are not affected by this section.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the App, its third-party services, or legal requirements. We will publish the revised Terms at this URL and update the effective date above. Continued use of the App after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
