EMS, microcurrent, and KONKA’s MFIP all use electrical energy, but the waveform, intensity, contact, and treatment schedule determine what a user actually experiences.

How it works

Mechanism before marketing.

Electrical stimulation sends a controlled current through conductive contacts. Depending on the device settings, users may feel tingling or a visible muscle contraction during use.

A randomized 12-week study of one facial neuromuscular electrical-stimulation device reported changes in zygomatic muscle thickness and perceived firmness. Those results belong to the tested device and protocol; they do not automatically validate every handheld facial device.

    Promising for temporary muscle activation and, with repeated use in some tested protocols, facial-toning measures. Evidence is still device- and protocol-specific.

    What we cannot assume

    Research has boundaries.

    “EMS,” “microcurrent,” and “MFIP” are not interchangeable specifications. Current strength, pulse shape, frequency, session length, and conductive medium matter.

    Practical use

    Use the technology thoughtfully.

    • Use a water-based serum or conductive gel so the contacts glide and remain evenly coupled to the skin.
    • Begin at the lowest comfortable level; stronger sensation is not proof of a better result.
    • Do not use over broken or irritated skin. Follow the supplied manual and its contraindications.
